The traffic in Taiwan is horrible and crazy, lots of scooters, cars and bicycles! There's almost one scooter per person in Taiwan!! There are scooter reserved spaces at every road crossing. When a scooter driver needs to make a left turn, he must turn at the very first moment that the traffic light turns green, before all the traffic that comes towards him! Even my 73 years old father rides scooter like this, every time I take a ride with him, I must close my eyes when we turn left otherwise I think I will have a heart attack! So, be aware when you cross the streets in Taiwan, because there's no such thing as pedestrian first!
